The Tubman Seminar Series invites interested students and scholars to attend a seminar by Alia Paroo of York University concerning the ubiquitous and questionable role of the Indian along the east African coastline in Tanganyika of the 20th century. Finding common ground between two differing cultures linked by a broad and historical trade route, and understanding their connections, is a fascinating puzzle which Paroo attempts to untangle.
Paroo spoke at 305 York Lanes on Tuesday, April 5th between 12:00 noon and 1:30. We welcome participants to come and learn more about the complex and engaging narrative of the experience of cultural interactions between Indian and African in the east.
