The Tubman Seminar Series invites interested students and scholars to attend a
seminar by Dr. Amani Whitfield of the University of Vermont concerning the
enslavement of Africans and their stories along the east coast of Canada,
entitled "Negotiating Bondage and Re-enslavement in Loyalist Maritime Canada".
Dr. Whitfield spoke on Tuesday January 11th from 12:00 noon to
1:30pm at 280A York Lanes. We welcome participants to come and learn more about
this fascinating narrative of bondage and freedom. Dr. Whitfield is a
distinguished scholar who has worked extensively within this field, publishing
books and articles on the topic of black Loyalists in Nova Scotia and Maritime
Canada. Everyone is encouraged to come and learn more about this chapter of
Canada’s history!
