As a kick-off to the Workshop series, The Harriet Tubman Institute was please to present its Performing Diaspora: Iniké Afrique Kick Off Music Festival which featured our Master Drummers, Dancers and educators from the Workshops series as well as a number of exciting musical groups from around City of Toronto and the world.
The music festival featured:
Master Drummers Mbemba Bangoura (Guinea), Amara Kante (Guinea), Amadou Kienou (Burkina Faso), educators, Modesto Amegago (Ghana) , Gareth Burgess (Trinidad), and performances by: Nutifafa, DRUMHAND, Samba Squad, Manding Foli Kan Don, Moussou Folila, and Baro Dununba.

The Concert will take place at the Founders College Assembly Hall, York University. Doors open at 6:30pm, and the concert starts at 7:30pm.
